Family Law Experience
Before Dyan joined The Law Practice of Jackie Kong, she had already gained extensive and varied legal experience in many aspects of family law. She began her career at the State of Hawaii Legislature as a community aide. She then joined the State of Hawaii Department of Attorney General’s Child Support Enforcement Agency as a legal assistant. At the Domestic Violence Clearinghouse and Legal Hotline, Dyan served as a staff attorney. She later joined the State of Hawaii Department of Education, School Based Behavioral Health Services Section.
Community Involvement
As an associate at the Law Practice of Jackie Kong, Dyan influences perspectives of family law in the legal community. Together with Jackie, she co-published an article titled "Hawaii Family Court Judges Have Heart" in the Hawaii Bar Journal. The law firm further educates family law professionals throughout Hawaii such as seminars related to father involvement, infant timesharing and child alienation.
Dyan's commitment to child welfare and domestic violence prevention do not end with office hours. She is a dedicated volunteer with the Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii (Divorce Legal Clinic), the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, and Kids First. For her commitment to these organizations, Dyan earned the Volunteer Legal Services Hawai’i Kahiau Award in 2006.

She is licensed to practice law by the State of Hawaii and the Federal District Court for the District of Hawaii. She serves as a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association – Family Law Section, the American Bar Association – Family Law Section, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, Hawaii Women Lawyers and Phi Delta Phi.
Dyan earned her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She also earned a prestigious recognition among the Who’s Who American Law Students while earning her law degree at Gonzaga University.
